Adana Kebab with Tandoor Bread and Bulgur Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500 grams ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground sumac
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tandoor bread or any flatbread of your choice
- Bulgur, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, tomato paste, cumin, paprika, sumac, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
2. Take a handful of the meat mixture and shape it into a long, cylindrical kebab. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
3. Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. If you have a tandoor oven, you can use it instead for an authentic taste.
4. Place the kebabs on the grill or tandoor and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and nicely charred on the outside.
5. While the kebabs are cooking, warm the tandoor bread or flatbread on the grill or in the oven until it becomes soft and slightly toasted.
6. Once the kebabs are done, remove them from the heat and allow them to rest for a few minutes.
7. To serve, place a piece of tandoor bread or flatbread on a plate. Place one or two kebabs on top of the bread. Add a serving of cooked bulgur alongside the kebabs.
8. You can garnish the dish with fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro and serve it with a side of yogurt or a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.
