Chilled Dessert Recipe


- 2 cups of milk

- 1/2 cup of sugar

- 3 tablespoons of cornstarch

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- Assorted fruits (such as strawberries, bananas, or mangoes), chopped

- Whipped cream or yogurt for topping (optional)


1. In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and cornstarch. Whisk until the sugar and cornstarch are fully dissolved.

2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a gentle boil.

3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

4. Transfer the mixture to individual serving bowls or glasses.

5. Cover the bowls or glasses with plastic wrap, ensuring the plastic wrap touches the surface of the dessert to prevent a skin from forming.

6. Refrigerate the desserts for at least 2-3 hours or until they are completely chilled and set.

7. Before serving, top the chilled desserts with chopped fruits and, if desired, a dollop of whipped cream or yogurt.

Note: You can customize this recipe by adding different flavors such as chocolate, strawberry, or coffee. Simply add the desired flavoring (such as cocoa powder, strawberry puree, or instant coffee) to the milk mixture before cooking.
