classic beef burger:

recipe for a classic beef burger:

Ingredients:

- 1 pound (450 grams) ground beef

- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

- 1 clove garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

- 1 tablespoon ketchup

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 4 burger buns

- Lettuce leaves

- Tomato slices

- Onion slices

- Cheese slices (optional)

- Condiments of your choice (mayonnaise, mustard, etc.)

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

3. Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

4. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to allow it to melt.

5. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Add a cooked patty on top, followed by tomato slices, onion slices, and any other condiments you prefer.

7. Top with the other half of the bun and serve your delicious homemade beef burgers.
